Thats the thing though, I couldn't give a damn if they replaced them, but if they are not going to replace them, they shouldn't give us such a high charge because the only thing it is increasing is the risk of theft, I've improved my handling with alloys and suspension but still get stung so...

I was told that if the airbag symbol is illuminated it's because theres a fault, wether it be airbags or pre-tentioners. And this will mean that none of you airbags will work because there is a fault. That makes safety sense to me.

who's your insurance with? I got silly quotes from tesco for lowering, 172 alloys and induction kit all together was about £390 - but I can't afford that so.

Middo if the SERV light is on none of your airbags will work as its shuts them down because it thinks there a fault there. So best get that sorted out anyway.

You will have the 'SERV' and the airbag symbol lights come on together, renault can use their diagnostics equipment to tell the computer not to recognise certain airbags, not sure how much this would cost but some people have used a resistor in the circuit but I don't know how reliable that is...

I think renault can tell the computer to not recognise it has side airbags, although this will cost a few quid it means your not putting a resistor in and your warning light will go out and can be assured the rest of your bags will work.
