rhys,
bang on, 0.5 secs at 100mph is a big distance,
what i would say is pah to all these 1/4 mile times, BOLLOX who cares about 1/4 mile drag strip times, dont mean a cars good if it can do a fast 1/4 mile
both times my r5 been left and i mean left for dust, i wernt racing the cars, but i would of lost regardless,
once was a lotus carlton who was infront of me so i tried to provoke him to see all that 3.6 twin turbo in action and boy did he take the bait, mega fast,
but slow compared to the...
dash,
i read the v6 is a very fun!(slide) car to drive, but whats it like as i am seriously giving it alot of thought, although it is competing with a lancia integrale evo2 and a 3door sierra!!!,
btw, im not after out and out pace like 0-100 in 1 sec lol but quick enough to make people...
well as for rolling roads being well out, its true that some might need calibrating,
but remember if its a freezing cold day the car physically will make more power same way if its really hot then the car will make less power
when manufacturers quote bhp figures i.e a clio 172 making 172 bhp...
LOL
how many times does this have to be posted,
this is a clio sport forum so er, the view youll get will be biased, but i dont own either, im only on here cos clio is a renault and i drive a renault
but if he learns how to control it off the line then its will be bye bye, fiat 20v turbos are rapid, more power and more importantly a hell of lot more torque
im in the lucky position of having driven my mates integra a few times,
well firstly 18 sec to a ton is b****cks it was timed by autocar 16.9 to 100 but like the clio willy test that was in the wet so its inheriatally faster.
and lastly and most importantly the integra is THE best fwd...
cant see any clio beating an evos or cossies, as std cars in this form are as rare as rocking horse sh*t,
scoobys though, plenty of not so quick ones and plenty of quick ones,
ok,
thing is the ctr that go to japan (JDM) are actually different, they have a different ecu, higher red line 8800rpm, limiter is full scale 9000rpm, and most importantly are fitted with a LSD, which completely transforms the handling,
a JDM civic makes 215bhp and i have no doubts as to...
im adequately qualified to answer this question,
now my car (AT THE MOMENT) has 149 bhp, and can and has held it own against CTRs ,172s etc... etc... and i smoked a st170 off the lights for breakfast. but then again its as light as a tin of beans
T3 roller bearing turbo being fitted in...

yeah but type rs aint drag machines,
an integra not a civic would swallow a 172 whole round a track, besides anything can go fast in a straight line with enough money spent on it,
well actually my cars a gt turbo, and its still cool, and is still around and it was made in 1989, and its not got any rust at all, and pretty soon a 250bhp engine in a 830kg car!
so renaults do last,
beside you have clear clusters, which will make me laugh you off the road
everyone should drive a gt turbo in there lifetime in my opinion
anyway getting back the point of the thread, about whether hed lose to a ctr, dunno what the spec, aint you got a 2.0 willy engine then i say you give it a bloody good go for the money
and in the real world the driver skill counts as they so closely matched, the better driver in either car would win, figures are one thing, replicating them yourselves is quite another
not really they look like a MPV,
yes actually i disagree with my previous statement after the rs at pod last sunday apparently got beat by a ctr in the wet,
rather my r5 any day of the week, anyone whos driven one will tell you that!
i didnt doubt the fact it could do 150mph on the speedo,
but get yourself to honda-r.org.uk or whatever it is, they tell you that for one
ctrs do not rev full scale to 9000rpm the jdm ctr will rev to 8800rpm max and it has a higher redline believe it or not, the uk ctr will rev to...
yeah i know,
that was not a std r5 though, dont need to tell me how quick r5s are i drive one of the bloody things, even with 150bhp 166lbft coupled with 850kgs= a very quick car
aaronc
firstly the quoted top speed of the ctr is 145mph, sure it will get to 150, plus its brand new and hes topping out sixth gear then it wont do the engine good
as for the few hundred quid bit thats a bit b****cks really, sorry but the K20 lump in the type-r is in a high state of...
0-100 has been clocked at 16.2 which amazing is quicker than a focus rs,
everyone has this reputation that they are slow, they are not, me mate drove his integra type r against one and there was very little in it, and hes clocked a 14.8 1/4 mile @96mph
