Dont bother with the Cup unless you intend to track it on a regular basis and strip it etc. Theres nothing to be gained from buying the cheapo version and driving it on the road.
(watches rod tip settle and waits for first bite)
lol. I love this fourm.
Depends what the roads are like where you live I guess. The roads where I live are shocking and my 172 feels crashy and skittish due to all the pot holes etc.
A friend of mine who works in the spray shop for Land Rover helped me polish and wax my car commented that the paint was thinner than a rizla and had an orange peel effect to it due to not being cured properly or something. he basically said it was gash and that Id be better off getting it...
Be ace. Taking bits home all the time. One-off test pieces etc.
Its like some kind of genetic lab for cars with all the mutated failed experiments lying about.
Has Cliosport ever visited the factory? id love to go and have a nose round and see what I could pick up (steal)!!!
Im pretty sure the damping rates were altered for the 172 cheap. Not that a dealer would know either, and nor would it stop the unscroupulous b******s putting the 172 dampers in cos thats what he had on the shelf.:@
Ditto. Used my pressure washer about three times and its not been out of the garage since. I just fit a smaller nozzle on the hosepipe to up the pressure a bit.
I average about 280-300 miles per tank (hence why I think the mpg reading of the trip computer is a bit optimistic). Best Ive ever had is 400 mile, that was on a trip to whitley bay including a bit of town driving. Trip said 43 mpg, which is nice!!
Yup, its because yours is an early model. That is the same set up as the 172.
On later models the climate control sensor fan was removed and replaced with a small temperature sensor. i think it was due to a number of faults with the fans.
I ignore the petrol gauge and just look for a garage once the light comes on. Ive found the trip computer to be pretty accurate althought the mpg figures are often a little generous.
I drove about 30 miles with the fuel light on and managed to put 48.1 litres of optimax in which came to over...
True, although the courtesy cars do lead a harder life than you average car. Still, you did buy the cheap model so you cant expect it to be built like a tank.;)
Fifth isnt brilliant, but at least it still pulls a bit. 5th in the Mk1 172 is much worse . Not much good for speed but better for cruising if thats yours of of thing.
Granted the ripple may be small . Im with you on this one mate, the effect, if any is negligble. Ive certainly never had a problem. I just thought you wanted to know the theory behind it!! Obviously you already knew!!
You do induce an equal amount on each RCA but this will not cancel out ( the...
The power cable has a (varying) electro-magnetic field. Believe it or not the voltage travelling down your power wire to your amp when your is engine running is a far from pure DC voltage, thus it can interfere with a sinusoidal signal.
This field is picked up by the signal cable, amplified...
The theory behind the interference is simple, but high quality screened cable should prevent it from happening. Or even un shielded twisted pair. It doesnt stop the interference but splits it equally across the two channels thus cancelling it out.
ive never bothered about it before - always...
My boss is fron ilkeston!! Im sure your alright, but most of the folk from illson are clearly inbred!!!! lol!!! My gaffers got webbed feet and 6 fingers on each hand!!
I wouldnt want my missus in a car without ABS. I could live with it, but I know full well that she doesnt have enough driver ability to deal with a proper skid. The closest shed get to taking any action if the wheels locked up would be to close her eyes.
Im in no way saying all women are like...
