My 1st new clio was bought on Renault finance over 3 years. decided to sell it after 2years and just sold it privately, told the buyer I had a loan on the car, once the money had cleared and they'd taken the car, I called Renualt finance to tell them I was buying a new car, they couldn't match...
What turbo does the twingo gt run?
would it be possible to make the custom manifold with the standard turbo fitment from the twingo gt, then it should be easier to source a turbo
there's a few on ebay for both the clio and the 5.
Pipework looks identical; 2x large connections at the bottom and 1x smaller connection at the top. BUT the 5 tank has the mount at the rear and the clio mount is to the left hand side
Are you talking about a 197 or non sport Mk3?
The non sport Mk3 16" Canasta wheels fit my 182 fine, I think the offset is slightly different but not enough to have any affect
I test drove a ST3 and what a BORING drive!!!! Compare it against a Megane 225 and you'll soon forget about the Focus. And you really notice the weight when pushing hard into bends
In a straight line it is quicker than the clio with all that torque, but it drinks petrol. MPG is terrible...
Not me. Was it lightly modded, I used to see one at Highlands Park with a few bits done but not seen him for a while.
They're getting far too common now!!!
If i'm really blatting it, I'll take it just over 7k when fully warmed up, just before it hits the limiter.
Yes there is less power than that at the peak point, but the car will still accelerate quicker than short shiftin up into the next gear at lower revs, and you run the risk of not being...
to add a bit more, the car will never be tracked. I've done a few track days now to know not to use my own car.
so lowering it on springs isn't going to make the camber worse and scrub out the inside of my tyres then? Full set of 4 PE2's only last a maximum of 18,000 miles as it is.
I'm thinking of lowering the 182 with cup suspension on Eibach sportlines, and was wondering if I ought to get a set of camber correcting bolts and get it all re-aligned. Or are they not really needed until dropped on coilovers?
Generally fitted them in the past to previous cars like my 5...
I think you'd struggle to get your money back on the escort anytime near or after christmas. Having to get tax and MOT 6months sooner I'd opt for the dealer and get them to throw in 3 - 6months warranty to be safe. An extra 8k miles on a car these days is hardly anything really. Unless you can...
Will you get any kind of warranty with buying from the dealer for a few months? worth a bit extra.
And what are you P/X? what's it worth if you sold privately in the current market
If its a good price, go for it. Price it up against using the V6 airbox.
Your not going to notice any real performance gain, only noise. Never heard the CDA but the V6 box does sound nice, but if it's a carbon airbox, it's all about the bling
I've tried it by leaving the acoustic valve in place and inline with the inlet track, still on the car but not affecting the inlet track, and then removed all together, and it made no difference to the VVT kick at 5k

Here's a few pics of mine in the thread above.
My 5K kick is still there in all gears so not sure why the two are different. Like I said earlier I did think it pulled better at lower revs though
Now has a black Samco induction bend...
I'm running one, and to be honest there's no real gains that you can notice. I did originally think that it picked up better but that might be the influence of the induction roar.
Sound wise, it sounds standard until you open up the throttle fully and it gives quite a roar, sounds a bit...
I was of the impression that the C1J will fit straight into the clio fairly easily, didn't think you had to swap the subframes over at all
Do it mate, fit a side exit so you don't have to play around with an exhaust, set the carb up to run 1bar and you'll see past all standard 1.8 16v's IMO...
Before I had the RS, I had a 53reg 1.4 Dynamyque and a 5 GT Turbo, loved both cars to bits as they were so good at what they did. But insuring, taxing and running 2 cars was expensive even with limited mileage on the 5, and I didn't really have space for 2 cars so it seemed natural to go to the...
Parked in the Staples car park opposite the Riverside Centre Monday afternoon.
Reg started either M9 or N9, I can't remember which. Had a CS tax disc holder and sticker in the rear window
Sorry to say it mate but most garages will only respray the whole side so they can get the paint to match. Trying to match one panel directly next to another one is near on impossible with Liquid Yellow.
I have a small scratch/ chip on the passenger door, only just broken through the top...
As soon as I got home to post it up I couldn't remember if it were artic or racing blue, not like they're similar either :o looked nice with the wheels, sounded like you had an induction kit of some sort by the growl it made as you left the carpark.
I've just started doing a buidling surveying...
