My mate has a Williams 3 with 195bhp at the flywheel - before his NOS jets of 50bhp. His car seems to be standing up well to it. He uses it now and again just to blow things away (like my car!!) in the unlikely event that they are getting close to him in a race. Seems to last a while if you...
For all the trouble of fabricating a heat shield, you might as well put an old air box on for warm days spent in traffic (e.g. going to work) and then putting the induction back on when you want to take the car for a rip!!
Im in the fortunate position of being a student - so I only use my car...
Man, the black plastic but comes off real easy, but it holds the bulb in too (certainly on a phase 2 94-97 Clio anyway). You can get replacements that make the whole lens sit flush to the bodywork - my mate has some on his Willy - Ill ask him where they came from.
Have Yokohama A059s on my car (16/205/45). I didnt think they were up to much to start with, but then realised that both front springs were snapped!! Now have new springs and lowered suspension. They grip like a dream. I have absolute faith in them when pushing on. Have previously used...
I can confirm that black wheels DO NOT make youre cleaning life any easier. In fact, all the grime/dirt shows up even more as grey shyte contrasts more with black and graphite than it does with the normal alloy wheel silver.
Both myself and my mate run 16s. Just to give you a quick recap: mine runs 171bhp at the flywheel and his Willy 3 makes 245 with nitrous. We stuck to 16s because theres little point moding a car if youre going to scupper performance gains with adding unsprung weight. If you can find 17s that...
I had this happen the other day to mine. It turned out that one of the internal boards had blown. Took it back to Halfords and they sent it off to be fixed - bonza!! It was blowing the fuses all the time before and I spent ages tracking all the wires and re-doing the earth.
Tell me about it. She wants me to get a VW Campervan - split screen. Theyre nice, but somehow I get the feeling I wouldnt enjoy ripping around in it so much.
I took my mates one for a spin - the gearknob came off in my hand!!

I bought my stealth tuned Valver on the sly. My girlfriend hates it!! She says the leather is naff and noveau-riche; the colour (black) makes it too hot in the summer; the wheels (again black) make it look too bad-boy; its too fast and she gets scared (171 bhp at flywheel) - Ive never taken...
Go for the quality Momo 16s. Thats the size Ive got on mine with a mild 30mm drop at the front on springs and about 15-20mm at the back. Had it done on Thursday - the car handles so well. Ive been down the big wheel/really low combination before and Ive repented and seen the light now. If...
I had a 1.2 for about 3 years before my current beast!! Anyway, the best thing you can do to improve performance is to lower the car on 15s. See posts in main forum where Ive given my experiences of lowering. Long and short of it is not to go too low on 16s.
Also had a Peco exhaust on my...
Ive got leather - as far as I can see, the fronts are the same as a 19 16v. Could you just change the seat subframes?? As for the back, its the same as the Clio 16v I think. Maybe get the fronts from the 19 and re-trim your backs to match??
I get about 250-350 miles out of my tank. I dont know what cams/verniers/head/pbv/induction/exhaust does for fuel consumption. All I know is that this seems to be about the same as my 1.2 Clio!!!!!!!!!!
My external temperature senosr in my Clio 16v (94) goes mad all the time. It started plashing constantly at 9c, then it read a constant -30c, and then it stopped altogether. Now its fine again!! its just a design feature by Renault to let you know when your car feels unloved!!
I wired up my amp earth to the rear light cluster mounting point in my Clio. Seems foolproof to me as it has a screw on plastic bit and a metal collar that meet with the cars shell - just right for the amp earth!!
Hmmm...
I understand that the 16v came without a cat initially, then had one put on to compl with regs after 8/92. As far as I know, there was no/negligible difference in power and 0-60 times. But obviously thats with a standard exhaust set-up.
I reckon that a cat replacement wouldnt do...
