Oh hai there club member ;)
Agree with the above though, the clio's although a good car are the car for people who want 1 car that does both to a reasonable level. If you have the option of 2 cars, it doesn't come in to the equation.
Spotted on Oldham bypass last night (not sure what time but it was dark.)
You were behind me coming through sainsburys onto the bypass. Was in a silver Mk5 ZS with a Mk1 MX5 in front and a 6n2 GTi in front of that.
Sounds about right. A lot of things on here aren't 100% accurate. It's just a matter of who says it, depending on the person to say it, it then becomes fact.
Removing the fuse on the 1*2's to remove ABS gives you 50/50 brake bias iirc the bias is controlled/determined by the rear abs sensors. Apparently you can disconnect a rear ABS sensor to disable it but retain the standard bias.
Personally I'd go for a 106/Saxo, the parts are cheaper, they are...
Friend of mine has one, lovely little car.
BUT! Gearbox is gash, steering feels too light and you can't real feel what's going on underneath you and for the extra power, it's no quicker than my Mk5 Zetec-s.
That said, they are better built, will run forever, and are a much nicer place to be :)
Did I miss something or isn't the colour name posted anywhere for the BMW? It's a little dark but it's hard to tell as it's indoors and quite dark anyway, would be nice to find some pictures of it out in the sun.
Problem with a gloss black roof wrap Chris, is that they scratch quite easily even when washed correctly. They also look a bit "flat". If you're going to go for a black roof, do it properly.
If you don't bother and decide you want it wrapping, get some quotes and give me a shout, I'll beat it.
Showed that video to a friend of mine and it turns out he knows you apparently, Adam beard he's called. Said you learnt how to drive like that from owning a corsa :P
It will be a while before I can insure one tbh. I'm paying circa £1800 on the ZS at the minute. Bad times. And yeah some cracking cars you've owned, think they are good stepping stone cars to learn to drive properly, think if I'd gone from a 1.2 and got straight in a 172 it wouldn't have...
Been waiting for this thread alex. I'm in the same boat as you have been, wanting a Renaultsport clio but insurance just not allowing it. Think my next purchase will be a 106 GTi due to insurance being extortionate!
If it's never been detailed you'll deffo want some, to save you buying some for the weekend I'll fill the bottle up I have and bring it for you to use. You'll definitely want some once you've used it.
I was extremely surprised how little tar I had on the car tbh. But it's extremely good. Can borrow it if you want? I'll bring it up with me next time I'm out. In fact, get yourself a chemical resistant spray bottle and I'll give you a bottle.
I will convince you before the year is out! Mainly because there aren't any nice ones locally and I can't afford to insure one myself so it'd be nice to see a decent example occasionally :)
