I am painting the fuel rail guard red with hammerite smooth. I am trying to get the paint as smooth as possible, but its slow work. Is there any way I can polish it to smooth it out?

I have been using ds2500 for around a couple of weeks, i think they need to be warmed up before they work properly, so no speeding at the start of a journey....

Apparently the scrapyards pay a tiny amount for stuff like this.

I am currently painting it red, with hammerite smooth. The calipers came out really good, but I havent got the finish I want on the fuel rail guard. It keeps drying with the brush lines visible. I think i need to sand then polish to finish it off.

I'm not getting a very good finish on the fuel rail cover. I assume i need to sand it smooth after each coat?

AG stuff, its like green slime. Get it on a sponge and rub over all black bits. It takes a while though.

How long before I can drive again? Just put third coat on drivers side caliper, should it be ok tomorrow morning? Also, anyone used this on the engine parts. Inlet manifold and Fuel rail cover?

cool, as I just spent all day painting one of them. Done 3 coats and 3 hours between each coat.

Is normal hammerite smooth ok, or does it have to have to say high temperature paint on tin? :S

Exactly what gave me idea, as the shapes under the bonnet are quite nice and symmetrical, and think it would be cool with silver and mirrors.

but is this actual glass? I am worried about extra weight and how durable it is.
