Can anyone list the reason codes for the 172 alarm?
By that I mean the number of times the hazards flash after the alarm has gone off. EG Twice for door opened, 3 times for boot etc....
Cant see why they would have a different class for Sat Nav but insurance companies dont make much sense at times.
I know with Direct Line and Tesco they work on a 20 - 90 system rather than the usual 1 - 20. 172 was 66 and the Cup was 67.
LOL I love the way all 172 owners just refer to 0-60 times. Its a bit more than that in reality. Fine if you just plan to drive to mothercare but on the open road they would be a bit more difference between the 2 cars.
I think the material used is more important that the colour. If colour was that important then surely the space shuttle would have some fancy silver bottom not black ceramic bricks.
Living in Cumbria (garyvts not me) where I presume there are some nice roads through the countryside would you be happy to settle for a 172 when the cup would be a much more enjoyable drivers car?
Happened on my cup. Faulty door sensor meant the central locking kept operating by itself. You could be driving along and the car would unlock and then lock itself over and over again.
I knew this was causing the alarm problem as the car was parked outside my mates on summer night and we...
All I can add is that I followed the guide lines strickly with my 172 but ragged it from day 1 with my Cup. The Cup sounds better and doesnt feel as rough.
"£200 to spend "
On a 1.2?!?! Erm not a lot. Even if some magical mod offered a 20% increase you not going to notice much improvement. A decent back box or sealed induction kit will swallow that £200 plus more.
Cheers for that David. I must be honest and hold my hands up as it was me who suspected you guys. Guess I got it wrong eh!
Seriously tho thanks for the detailed explanation.
