Go into the engine bay, look at the gearbox side, just down from the head there is a gearbox sensor (you can see the gearbox cog and is a funny t shape), this is the sensor, as for going back to the loom i could suggest pulsing the wire with a wire trace and checking the end to find where it is...

Just change the dials to the rev counter and it will work fine, three plugs at the back of the current dials plug straight into the new dials.
Any idea how a manufacturer works out the correct MPH reading on the speedo?
Eg. If a new tyre has 8mm tread and a uk legal tyre has 1.6mm that is a difference in diameter of 12.8mm which is approximately 50mm difference in the circumfrence on an average tyre.

They are no bigger than a penny size for 4 of them in the rear of the headcloth.
However you need to take the other bolts off too and then to take the front down of the headcloth to get into them, so i did that and drilled the holes in the rear to get to the bolts. I lined them up before i...
Ohh yeh, it is mostly from the ariel.
What you need to do is take down the center console, unscrew it all, unbolt the ariel, then clean it up around the area, reseal it and job done.
