all my cars with 6000k HID kits have passed mot no problem. they only fail people with them fitted to a none optic or projecter light unit. so mrk1 172s are fine

cut or uncut they both will be fine. takes 30 mins on ramp take old system off support the rear beam drop the two 18mm bolts on the bottom of the rear shock fit to the rear hangers clamp at CAT joint. fit centre section support bring beam up to shocks re fit the 18mm bolts done.

ive had my 172 pass a MOT with a 6000k hid kit.. i think it kinda go's on what car you are running them on. if you have the OEM opic lights (like the mk1 172's) then the beam looks factory xenon.. but if there just fitted to a normal headlight unit then the light isnt "focused" and just looks...

new water temp sensor is about £22 they just unbolt and the new one screws in.

1.2 16v head gaskets never go.. they all hold a small amount of "mayo" under the oil cap. this is just condensation in the engine.. take it for a good run and mite be an idea to go over 3.5k revs once in a while
