I test drove one, personally I was very disappointed, I don't like the looks of it and I was hoping the drive would make up for that - but I found it boring, slow and the steering too unresponsive. The interior looks a bit better, but thats about it.

Do it, I'd love to have one of them!

I don't really the hot hatch versions are girly, they're probably aimed more towards men if anything. Maybe just the normal versions, although I don't really see that as girly either, see plenty of guys driving round in them!
