Sounds bad, however he hasnt arrived to explain yet.
Also, i do believe his 172 was in the CS calender for 2008. I take it some people will be skipping that month?
The car obviously had the head skimmed on saturday, and the engine rebuilding has been coming along nicely.
Now the car had a problem on the timing, was out by one tooth, so, off came the belt and tensioner. Aligned the top dead centre on both the oil pump and the crackshaft. Now putting the...
Update 3 - Head on, looked good, then problems.
Cylinders 3 and 4 wouldnt fire. Took rockercover off, adjusted tapets and cylinder 3 fired. Cylinder 4 still has a problem with it.
Looks like head will come off again and ill be doing the valves.
Update 2 - Got head back yesterday, built engine backup yesterday and today.
Head looks like it had been skimmed before the guy said, also looks like the engine ive got had a problem previously. The piston had a mark from where the valve hit it also.
Hopefully the car should be rolling for...
Update guys, had the head off the car, the gasket had indeed cracked and a pit had developed on the head.
Off to get it skimmed and pressure checked tomorrow. Hopefully ill be rolling again by monday.
If the physical motherboard fans do not go on and the pc doesnt beep at all, then the damage to the CPU will be unknown.
Does the LED light on the motherboard? Have you connected all the connectors to the motherboard? IE the large connector and the 4 Pin small connector?
Also - Was the PC on...

Got these with the Crucial Gizmos as stanard. Pretty quick and password protected. Good wee tool.
Unbolt the whole unit, then take the thermostat out then change it.
3x 10M bolts to take the whole unit off.
Watch the water will disappear from the system, good idea to drain the car first before taking thermostat off.
GSF should have it yes. However Halfords may also have it.
Happened to Mark (rufstuff), he had to bleed his system again and found air in the system.
He also did the braided hoses and new disks. His brakes disappeared completely at some stages.
To the right of the engine block. Look for where the water hose goes into the engine (right hand side of engine).
The L bend bracket contains the thermostat.
Hope that helps.
The bend wil also have the tube for the Header take return attached to it.
The usual renault amount. Nothing amazing, but the oil does decrease, however i normally change the oil before it goes empty. So realistically i change oil every 7-9 Thousand. Engine does burn oil however, but i knew this anyway, both engines ive had has done this.
D-Type. Petrol Engine. 1.2L 8V 60bhp.
Yeh got 65 BHP at the RR two weeks ago
.
Engine setup is FULLY standard, nothing is changed.
Im going to double check the readings tomorrow. Most likely the test was not done with the WOT as per said.
What is the correct procedure on doing the...
Hello all,
My D-Type engine has been compression tested by myself today.
What should my readings be? I need to know before i start any work, as it isnt listed in the Haynes Manual and i cant find it anywhere.
I am getting these readings:
Gearbox end first
Piston 1 - 40PSI / 3Bar
Piston 2 -...

What you think? Possible price i thought was a bit higher than per usual 172s.
Does the exclusive gain this price however?
Im kind of interested in this one at the moment.
How do you clean decals properly, example Andys car, its got a lot of decals on it, so how do you actually clean the car properly with the stickers in the way?
It sucks indeed
Ive checked for leaks with the water compression test. No luck.
Yes the residue from the exhaust is wet, suggesting the water going down into the manifold.
None, checked and checked and checked. None at all.
Well update guys and gals.
Bled the system for three hours last night, and it still had air in it, even drove it around and bled it again, still air in system. However now my heaters work great and the water pump seems to be working as the fan came on last night.
Looking more like my head is...
