It sounds like the "remote" cable is constantly supplying 12V to turn the amp on. Are you Sure the remote wire is wired correctly?? What headunit is it as some you have to change.

The reason they blew is because Led's are polarized meaning if you put them in the wrong way round go pop like yours did. There's a bit more to it but I can't be arsed to explain! Thats the gist of it.

Where did you buy them from?? Almost sounds like you got the wrong Voltage rating. I.e your chucking 12V into an led with a 3.3v maximum Voltage rating... POP :)

Gimme a sec and il Tell you. You can buy them from www.shinyautos.com BUT from what I remember a cups set-up is different from a normal 1*2 for the interior light (where the map light is etc)... Il be back...
