i have the same bit turning right. over rough ground or small pot holes when travelling slowly is there a kind of knocking noise coming from your front right???? if so from spending the whole day searching and posting it seems to be bottom ball joints. which are only cheap and not too...

its horrific. its almost a grinding from the front left rather than the rack itself. topmounts arent loose and the car has only done 37k and is 6 years old. are the ball joints and cv joint things i can check myself? ive got to drive to sheffield on wednesday and need it sorted by then.

nope. its worse than the "normal" creaking. this and the knocking only come from the left front wheel though. not from the right, that still feels solid.

Looked through some other threads on this and people have different suggestions for it, I have creaky steering when on full lock turning right (when going over a bump or pulling onto my drive it's really noticable). Also at low speeds going over a bump surface or small pot holes it sounds...

are you running hardware or software raid? I ran software raid for a while but it just kept dying a death. the initial outlay for hardware raid is worth it imho. i know some people still like software though.

does it only vibrate when turning ever so slightly to 1 side? mine does this (all be it a 1.2) and i dont have a clue whats wrong. front end feels loose and speed humps feel like the wheels are going to fall off. my mechanic (who is an ex renault tech) has said its safe to drive. gonna get...
