i've read that decent head work on the clio works quite well. More so when tuned, but no figures. You'll be looking at about £500 to get it ported and polished though. Pluse removing means belts etc will need redoing.
I can't imagine it being great mate to be honest. How high is the flat? could you not run a hose pipe from you're internal tap out the window? Be a hell of a lot cheaper.
surely on a front wheel drive car spoilers and defusers do squat due to applying downforce to the rear wheels where there is no power. In high speed corners surely this reduces grip. Wouldn't bother personally mate.
cncheads will do it for you, they are stockport. not too far from you. It's not something they would normally do, but if you get the gaskets and get them to match it to them they will have no problems.

That's not too bad really. Think about it. If you're doing 44mpg for arguement sake. A galon of petrol is around 4quid, so around 10 miles per £1 is about right.
If you clean it, give it a better cold air feed then you shouldn't get any power drains really. I had a K&N on an found it ok, but too chavvy for me. I'm putting the espace on in a week or so. If I ever get round to it :S. Have a read on removing the acoustic valve (although not sure if the 172...
