The v1's aren't a bad bit of kit, but I'd rather have h&r's or the bilsteins than the v1 kit.

The koni's are not really a track based setup, meant to be good for road use. I'd speak to fred @ btm rather than ktec. He has experience of pretty much every kit going. May be able to supply as well.

I'm just using standard topmounts. The ride quality is very good, perfectly useable day to day. But if you do get any track time, stiffen them up and you have a very good track set-up.

Think it was pretty obvious I was talking about the mk2's. You're again confusing yourself Shirley. You're talking about depreciation on a narrow scale, and running costs on a narrow scale. Not everyone owns/runs a car in the manner you do. It is a simple fact that a newer car will depreciate...

They don't have the adjustable thigh support IIRC?

Fuel alone in a 197 would be £1500 extra per yr for me. And you've mentioned servicing, but not depreciation, which will be far higher in a new car. Without having experienced either car on track (or any) it's impossible to comment on their behaviour (IMO)

Yeah, because 25-27mpg is just as cheap to run as a 35mpg car. You really are the most biased lad on here. Even the Vee boys admit the faults of their cars!

Try kw v2's. Your welcome to have a go in mine. Nothing wrong with h&r's, but I find the adjustable damping genuinely useful.

Tbh you won't get a better deal than the ultra's with your budget. Madness to spend more on wheels then have budget tyres on.

Have a search. Been several of these threads over the past month, plenty of advise in them.

Rough b roads are fine with the kw's feels similar to the trophy set up, slightly softer. For track firm it up and it's great. I've covered less than 100 miles since fitting the arb, but happy so far. Just feels more precise with no ride penalty.

You get what you pay for. I'm running kw v2's and a whiteline arb. Without the arb I was hassling 911's on track (the r888's helped as well!). Dan, was it howsers car you tried with kw's?
