Yes. Believe me, it drives a hell of a lot better than a standard 172.
PM me if you want to know what I think following my drive out into the sticks last night Ive got a good feel for the car.
Those of you knocking it have obviously never spent long behind the wheel of a 172, Cup or 182...
I had a problem with this. When I called Tesco for my initial quote all was fine.
Then a few weeks later I called to ask about the Cup pack and was told that was a modified vehicle and my XS would go up to £500 from £300 and my premium increase would be £184 not £31.50
So I waited a few...
I figured Id just go with one of the starter kits for now, as its easier for me. As the car is brand new I just want to get a nice protective coating on there for now. Its already got a nice deep shine to it.
Im sure the Titanium wax will be more than enough for me. I dont really go all out...
I would have had a 106GTi only I struggled with the close pedals. Ended up with a Rover 200 Vi instead. This was back when the 106 GTi had just come out.
When people look at mine they usually say "Nice, (looks at door badge) 2.0 litre engine in a Clio, Christ I bet that goes some".
Yes thank you, its not too slow. :D
It made no difference at all when I traded my 172 in. The only reason I got a lower trade in was because it was an import, but that didnt matter. I got a grand less than I would have done a UK car, but paid £2.5k less for the car in the first place.
But how expensive is a Cooper S Works!!:o
And the CTR is a class of car above, to even be compared with it is praise for the Clio.
Besides, all journos are corrupt, dont you all know that by know? ;)
Ive been looking into this a fair bit today and have pretty much come to the conclusion that weve been stitched up over these so called "stiffer side wall tyres".
See my posts here...
The manual says that it can take 20 minutes to get a lock the first time its switched on.
Mine is rock solid in the cradle and has never popped out once. Check that the magnets are doing there job. They are in the cradle and are very strong.
On Motors TV they said it was a little more a GT than a medium sized hot hatch. Performance wise its a rocket, but the handling is setup a little more towards comfort than the other cars in the Renault Sport rage.
Yep, thats right.
Heres what a Magnex Cat back system looks like, I took it off Friday:
If that were the Renault system it would be in one piece.

Mine is an EU import and Ive been able to sell it privately so Im having to trade it in with Renault. They are offering me roughly a grand less than if it were a UK car. Im happy with that as the saving I made buying it was a lot more than that.
Its one piece all the way from the cat back. To swap the centre section or back box they cut it around the rear axle.
Ive just had mine welded back together after being cut off in the wrong place.
I know exactly what you mean moose. When I was buying the 172 last year I called Renault Birmingham to try and get a test drive in the Cup they had as a demo. By the time they had bothered to return my call Id tried a CTR and purchased the Clio from somewhere else.
Even when I told them over...
