Exactly. Its all about mechanical sympathy imo. I've done approx 60k in Reanultsport clios and not had any gearbox problems. Infact i've never had a broken gearbox in any car, and they've all been driven pretty hard imo..
Yeah, just clean up the area with some hot soapy fairyliquid etc, as this will remove any wax on the paint. Laquer up the defect, (couple of coats) and it should be fine imo. Remember to wax it a week or so later
I know what you mean. I like the idea of PC'ing untill i do it. Very tiresome etc, much prefer finishing by hand (so to speak :o ) but as we both know impossible to get good results on black :(
You wont spank a 172. My mate had one on demo for a weekend (which i drove, and loved may i add). We had plenty of runs to compare them Against my (at the time standard 182) it was pretty much even, i *may* have just nudged it to be fair.
