Don't replace the HG, just do a straight conversion imo.
The rest of the stuff can be had quite cheap if your on a budget etc, it's just a matter of scouting round for the bits.
No idea with regards to the head gasket, if you want a track car i'd junk the 1.4 engine & valver engine it up (1.8 16v engine) they can be had for cheap (you could williams engine it 2.0 16v, but they cost more) Sort the brakes & suspaension out etc though.
£37,000 - sold (ok so they may not have got that for it, but the asking is quite a bit more than normal)
£35,500 un-sold
Are they really worth more than the price they usually sell for ? ('bert - probs one for you tbh)
^ Agreed, when I was looking I wanted something that I could use, didn't direct me wrongly (like some i've used have done before) plus I wanted one that didn't fall off of the screen (as i've had some do before)
I like my one.
I've got that add on for mine, I can't add much, only to say that...
I got a tom tom one v4, with the extra antenna bit (it detects traffic jams etc) and re routes you. I can't fault it. it cost me about £160 a while ago (it'll be cheaper now)
Rich - Imo it's the tyres, I ran avons on my valver years ago, awful things tbh. God knows what my mate had on his gti, it really was ace though.
I assume yours is 100% standard ?
