Started whining from drivers side engine. Check the aux belt idler, seems ok (no play in it). Worst time for it to happen, got loads of work 80 odd miles away in Jan.
The way prices are going, I'd hold onto the 182 until an exige is within range. You'll end up wasting thousands otherwise, by a new car, run it mod it etc, then end up getting an exige anyway. Enjoy the 182 (do some advance driver training, track days) then get the exige.
Brave lol! From what I remember (I know very little about engine's), reckons its the idler bearing, quite a common fault. Said if I was unlucky aux belt comes off, cambelt comes off, bent valves etc. Either repair at that point (1k-ish) or get a 2nd hand engine to drop in (£900+). The noise I'm...
Exactly the same thing that happened to mine, track day then the whining appeared a few days later. I'd get it checked before using it much, £1k repair bill if the belt goes pop.
The noise I'm getting actually sounds louder from outside the car than when the engine bays open, high pitch whine, goes up with the revs, sounds a bit like the power steering on a new mini
Got the exact same thing happening with mine, I'm booked in 1st with Fred lol. He advised me not to use the car, bit of a b**ch as I work 28-80miles away depending on the day, but big bills if it lets go.
Read the post. Would buying a cup be a good idea? Are they reliable? Would a trophy be a better idea? Which is the better buy. Only talks about 2 cars there fella. But seeing as you don't seem able to read that post, i'm sure you can't read this one. Carry on ;)
Er no. Read the original post. Asks if a cups a good move, regarding reliability etc, then asks if a trophy would be better. No advice asked re other cars that i can read. Actually specifically asks for no stupid replies.
Not quite sure what your point is. You have yours, i have mine. If the weathers dry, and i have the time spare to wash a car, i'd rather drive it. Simple enough for you, or should i draw some pictures?
