    Clio for track use advice???

For a track car, 106gti would be better than a Rallye. I've driven the s1 and s2, you'll want more pace after 5 mins!

    Clio for track use advice???

Forgot to mention, a ph1 172 is a better starting point than the ph2.

    Clio for track use advice???

Depends if you want to be faster on a track day, or learning to be a better driver. The 172 will be quick, but a lot easier to drive. I wish I'd bought an E36 if I'm honest.

    Clio for track use advice???

Engine/Gearbox - Fine if maintained well Brakes - Uprate discs/pads. I've got DS2500 pads, brembo HC discs, braided hoses. No issues with them. Cage - Wouldn't bother unless going 100% track car. If going 100% track car, I'd get a different car. Suspension - Personal preference. I've got...

    Are these Brembo HC's?

Call them up and ask. Use the rectangular job with numbers on it. Not the one that tells the tv what to do though.

    197 Cup

I'd rather a mint r27 than a cup. If you can afford a 197 with the cup suspension, i can see no reason to get the 197cup.

    RSTuner Payment Poll

I'm in no rush, only thing I would say is the odds of people pulling out will go up the longer it takes.

Fluid on the shocks. How many miles is the car on?

Looking for clio 182 maybe cup

Cambelts more like £500 at a specialist (under 450 in jan). I wouldn't get a 182 without cup packs. No reason to get one over a 172 if not having the cup packs.

Re: Best Hot Hatch of all time? Of the cars listed, I'd probably go for the Williams.

    Fitting an aftermarket stereo

Yep, just shows the time/temp. Not sure if the controls work with only one of the wires connected though. It's very easy to remove the dash top, makes fitting the stereo easier as well.

R888 or A048 on daily driver

Didn't think the difference would be that great. Do we get enough cold weather to justify the winter tyres? If I'll see the benefit I'd buy a set, but I don't want to be changing wheels twice a week!

    Fitting an aftermarket stereo

I think it's the display wire that you have to remove the dash for.

    Remove dash guide.

Really? Didn't have that on any of my 4 ph2 RS's, but my ph1 does have the shrouds screwed on?
  21. ForceIndia

    Remove dash guide.

Remove dash strips, undo the screws (torx) underneath. Remove upper steering column shroud, further 2 screws (just under speedo). Then remove 3 screws by windscreen (in the air vent that runs along the windscreen base). Finally remove 1 screw each side, plastic screws, close to a-pillar. Then...

R888 or A048 on daily driver

They're actually ok in the wet, as long as you don't come across standing water. I used them on the way to Bedford, was pouring with rain. Was aquaplaning at 40mph, shallow puddles. For road use, on a daily driver, I can't see the benefit in using them.

Should I declare an engine remap to my insurance?

OT, but AFAIK, decats are insurance voiders. IIRC there was a pheads thread where a guy crashed his impreza (write off), and he was trying to go to court to get a pay out. No idea how it turned out. All the insurance companies I've used have refused to insure with a decat.

R888 or A048 on daily driver

Selling them soon as. Only done one (wet) day at Bedford on them. Currently on 15' Magnesium OZ F1's (selling as well), soon as they are seperated I'll pop a thread up.

R888 or A048 on daily driver

IIRC DanR runs 888's daily. I've got a set in the garage, selling them soon (but 15's so probably not of interest). There's a noticeable difference in grip when cold, and they do not cope with standing water, they aquaplane on the shallowest puddles. Ok when dry or even damp, pretty much...

    My 197...

I'd get the wheels refurbed darker, nimbus looks great with dark wheels like on the r27)
