This is where problems arise, people not accepting well know facts. Every review of the 197 I've read (and in my own experience) has criticised the 197 steering weight and feel. It's very accurate, but too light and numb.
Most (honest) 197 drivers are quoting 197mpg as 27average. I easily got...
So to follow your earlier point, why have a 197? Why not get a standard Clio fully optioned. My cars used in anger 2-3 times a week, and at trackdays. I wouldn't put up with a heavier less interactive car, just for the hours journey to work. Thats not even accounting for the poorer mpg. The road...
If I didn't do 20k miles a year, I would:rasp:. Weight blunts every aspect of performance, it's no surprise the 197, VXR's, etc etc have been less well received than the prev gen CTR, Trophy etc etc.
Cobra Misano.

Far lower than the Recaro, especially if you remove the washer in the subframe.
Having read a lot of your posts, possibly the most biased poster on here, rivalling AR;). The quote (as Ad pointed out) was taken out of context, describing the ST on 20 inch wheels. The overall verdict was fairly positive towards the ST.
The Evo long term verdict on the 197?
Despite being the...
All good fair points. But also absolutely bugger all to do with a hot hatch. Amazing that people bemoan the increasing weight of performance cars, then start talking about gadgets, a 'solid feel', etc etc. If I wanted a car to do that, I'd buy an Audi.
Nothing wrong with the standard seats, it's just the driving position thats awful. TBH, the Recaro's are overpriced, and don't remedy the driving position. Many people pay through the nose for them on the name alone. There are seats available at half the price, that improve the driving position...
I can't believe these threads are still happenning. For me, the 197 looks better, has a better interior, and is epic under braking. But it's also too heavy (the cup is heavier than the meg r26r), and has numb steering. You don't need feelsome steering (the 197 rack is very accurate), it's just a...

Thats with the camera front mounted, on the grill. It's not high end quality wise, but does the job. Was looking enviously at the http://www.videovbox.co.uk/ the other day.
Ok, there are plenty of thread from other people on here about the relative speed if the cars involved. There is very little in it. And a standard 106gti is a better handling car than a standard 172. Regardless of how many ridiculous little 'races' you and your baseball cap toting friends have.
