The previous owner of these team dynamics pro race decided to run with no brake pads for a while and as a result this happened; Any reccomend me a reasonably safe way of getting this stuff off? I've been working at it with the abrasive bit of a kitchen sponge but its taken me nearly an hour...

Been to the local paint guy today and he's quoted me £450 to do the full front end (bonnet, bumper and both front wings), sort out an awkward ding on the boot lid and also get the dent man to do the rest of the car. I didn't think it was a bad price and I know his work is good as he did my old one!
