182ff Vs 172, hadly anything in it 99% of the time. Same speed, pretty much the same handling (172 rides better, 182 slightly better handling) but 172's look better (no stupid exhaust).
I'd disagree, in my experience, both my 172's were quicker than my 182. IMO 172's look better as well, think they could of positioned the exhausts much better on the 182's.
Not a fan. Don't like the wheels at all, and they can keep chucking power at them as much as they want, until they give them decent steering they just feel like driving a slightly lower golf.
Not a massive difference between the 172 and the 182. TBH I prefered both my 172's over my 182. Pretty much the same pace, same interior, but better fuel economy (35mpg vs 32mpg). But, go on condition. My last 172 (still for sale!!), is in better condition than my Trophy, same mileage but the...
Prolines are very, very good. Give them a few weeks to bed in, then get you tracking etc done, and it will feel better than standard (especially at speed).
I've got one, great bit of kit. USB is dead easy, can run it all from the glovebox. It's a lot easier to install if you take the dash top off (10min job), as there's not much room for all the wiring. I stuck all the wiring in the gap next to the passenger airbag, all fits perfectly.
happened to me mate, no-one could explain why. when it happened to mine, the alarm was out of sequence with the door locks (ie the doors would lock turning the alarm off, or the doors would open leaving the alarm on). took it to a local alarm fitter who sorted it out, no idea how though. check...
If it's a GTI, the 172 will (just) edge it. If it's a rallye, nothing in it. Regardless, he'll be having more fun, 306 is the better car to drive (compared to a standard 172).
Monaco blue, is the best colour. Cups are great, but bear in mind the lack of abs (I know it's not very 'manly', but when driving family etc I'd rather have the safety net), and they can be more difficult to insure. I know of a mint monaco for sale, with Recaro's;)
Track and road are very different environments. The point isn't the pace, it's which is more enjoyable. Calm down fella, nearly as defensive as a Trophy driver ;)
