What I meant was that there are about 50,000 threads on here about when the cambelt & aux belt etc is due for a 172 so I was saying that it's the same as one of those (a 182) too.
As said most for that price will be on a higher mileage, but you may un earth a bargain., if you raise that budget a bit (say £500 extra) you'll be looking (hopefully) at better 182's.
That said 6k will get you a minty mint 172 no probs.
He's added more pics now as there was only one on there earlier on, just showing the outside. The pic that was there isn't one of those ones.
Now I see he's gone the whole hog with front & back bumpers it does look very hmmmmm !!
Sounds like quite a project you've got on your hands, please kep us up to date with it.
I'd go for a valver, williams or a 172 engine in it. I'd also consider plating the sunroof over (unless you wanna keep it)
Yep as FM says.
- edit, dunno about the doors though, later cars may have come with side impact bars (I think they did tbh)
Has it got a sunroof cutout ?
Just remembered this, saw it near to Victoria Road (I think it is) Lady in the passenger seat clocked my car & had a huge smile on her face. This was about 5.30 tonight.
Monaco blue has the paint code 432, open the drivers door & look at the white sticker, the paint code is along the very last line of the sticker.
If it doesn't say 432 it's not monaco blue.
Check out the front bumper & the wheels (the wheels are what were on a vee in the very early press pics)
