    Insurance, which company is best?

Elephant are quite good if you have to claim, but the repair centres are poor. But, I think that's similar for all insurer's. Try Tesco and Directline.

    Iceburg w/turini's

Anyone have pics of mk2 172 in iceburg w/anthracite turini's on? All the pics I can find have silver wheels.

    Decisions! Decisions!

One point that convinced me. Even when dirty the silver still looks good, whereas flame red looks flat and monaco looks like a normal clio, hides the lines totally. So, silver fort me (again!)

    Decisions! Decisions!

In the same boat myself, so many silver ones about compared to the other colours. I'm going for silver, more choice and prices seem lower. Had one in the past, and it's a nice colour, has sort of a blue tinge to it.

    best satnav on a budget?

I recently ordered the Garmin Nuvi 250 from Amazon, £115. European and UK mapping, very slim unit and the power supply and bracket are seperate, so if the bracket wears out it's only a tenner to replace. (Plus, on a childish note you can replace the navigation arrow with an army tank!)

is this an average price ?

I'm looking for a 172 at the mo, seems 1k overpriced. You can get cars with sim mileage for under 6k, check out autotrader/pistonheads.

    decat yes are no?

Yep, declared all his mods. All cars post 91 (I think!) have to have a cat fitted when built. It doesn't say that it has to remain on the car, but it doesn't say the opposite, so it's a v. grey area. Put it this way, if they refuse to pay out, I think you'd be fighting a losing battle.

    Sat nav

Extra 15 quid gets you a garmin nuvi 250, uk and euro mapping, and full support for downloading speed camera updates from pocketgpsworld. Also great customer service if something breaks.

    decat yes are no?

Agreed, doesn't seem to help if you get pulled! "Sorry officer, but my decat's quieter over 80"

    decat yes are no?

Had decat on my 182 Pro's -Better throttle response -Better MPG! -Pop's and bangs Con's -Loud, massively boomy on a motorway, drove to London and back, massive headache. Took it off the next day LOL. -Voids insurance (people argue over this, but a guy on pistonheads crashed his impreza and got...

    Which Sat Nav??

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000OV16MQ/?tag=cliospnet01-21 Ordered this, seems like a good deal. Very slim unit, and seperate cradle and power supply, so easy to wire in and hide.

    Realistic MPG for a 182

Got 34.9 out of my 172, 31.8 for my 182, same journeys.
  16. ForceIndia

    Which Sat Nav??

Looking to get a new sat nav. Needs euro mapping, but I want some thing with either a very small cradle or seperate power supply and cradle, so I can get it hard wired into the car and be hidden away easily. Any ideas?

    Are Clios the best cars?

Prev gen Fiesta's are cracking cars to drive, had a 1.25 zetec for a while, same chassis as the puma. All about conserving momentum.
  19. ForceIndia

    172 or 182?

Owned both. 182 hanldes better, but 172's are such good value I'd be tempted to go for a 172 + coilovers. I'm gonna be getting another clio in the next few weeks, flame red 172 for me.

2nd link is the road test with the figures that they record themselves. Everyone knows racing blue is worth 15bhp (minimum).

Using this forums standards (boster being a poor mans porsche), surely the 172cup is a poor mans 172!?!;)

    Xenons playing up... bit odd

Go to dealership, if they won't do it under warranty worth writing to Renault UK, you might get lucky with a goodwill claim

    Steering wheel

Any difference in size between the mk1 172 and the mk2? The 182 cup has a slightly smaller wheel, just wondering if the mk1 does.
