Yeah i suppose that could have ended up quite badly, i'll quickly email the guy and ask him for a dial instead now lol, if need be i could always get tdf to also fit a switch on it when i take the car to them for all the wiring jobs so best of both worlds :).
Time will tell i guest...
Never thought about the spinning off and needed to opposite lock asap, another thing i was worried about was with the dial turned right down can you still feel the road? as what i've been told electric steering don't give any feedback to the driver.
I didn't want a dial tbh when its on the track i want no assistance at all on the steering so thought a switch would be better for me,
I'd only want assistance while Manoeuvring in tight tight places and it would only be for a short time anyway so flat out easy will do me and make the switch...
Cheers chip
Thought it would only be a few quid for the bits (hate electrics with a passion) so i guest it looks like i'll have to bite the bullet and order one :(.
I know its been months since this last thread was used so sorry from bring back up from the dead, as i was on eBay i noticed this
Renault Clio 2 - Kit - Electric power steering controller box - ECU plug - EPAS
I've emailed the guy and he's able to send me one out with a on/off switch instead...
Thanks for the info guys didn't realise that it was speed adjustable, I'd only be using the EPAS at very low speed's about 5mph max so would it still work/help assist with a constant 12v power supply to the motor?
It wouldn't bother me if it was super easy or even a little bit heavy just as...
I've searched for the answer but couldn't find nothing regarding my query.
I'm building a track car and removing my PAS from the engine side to free up some extra power, what i want to do is fit EPAS out of a dci/16v 1.2 and fit the hole lot (rack, column) but what my concern is what does the...
Yeah good call.
I might be able to make it although i won't be in my 182, I'll tag along with another member if he's going would be good to meet some peeps.
If Pj3488dunne can't make it i might pop down on the bike if the weather is fine (fair weather rider) lol.
Oh didn't realise that you had to cover the fuel neck/cap aswel stupid MSA rule imo, thank god my car ain't for race use MSA would have a field day once done lol.
such a shame to see all the hard work you've already put into the tank/cover/brackets and now having to ditch it all :(, after your...
I think i might have come up with a solution to your problem so bare with me.
The solution i've thought of will allow you too.
1) Keep the tank in the cage'd area (where you'd cut the floor for the box)
2) Keep the alloy tank saving you spending £££'s on a replacement (would need modifying...
Here is how i had mine setup, the blue plate was used for a oil temp gauge that was added in the car and the silver plate is the mocal thermostat version (see spring left side).
The oil filter will then screw onto the mocal plate and job done.
Hope that helps.
Oh my oil cooler was 13row...
Update 2
Came over the garage yesterday at 16:00 and been out here since, so 1st i've been trying to get the sandblaster working earlier by trying it out on the front anti roll bar so loaded the container with kilm dried sand (been advised to use this but if it's no good i can purchase abrasives...
I know what the box part is for now guys turns out its a ph1 design for the exhaust hanger, was thinking to much about stuff to do than look at another members ph1 car in my garage (waiting for a engine change)
Thanks for confirming fella, i'll leave the stiffening kit then and order the...
^Lol, ok so another eventfull weekend doing the same thing (scraping off underseal) but finally it's all off
Ive taken off the fuel tank bracket to try and shred more weight, second pic is the box section i was referring to (passenger rear arch) but i can't remember what's it for so...
WOW not what i was expecting from a project, I'm very impressed with the amount of attention to detail and your fabrication work it's top notch hats off to you for the amount of work gone into it so far.
Feel your pain with the fuel tank issue that's a very expensive mistake if you decide and...
Will take a look Russ and subscribe, if your going down the lightweight route have a look at mine for ideas what to remove, i could be wrong but dont think no one has gone to the extent i have on here yet.
Oh awesome prob the easiest 5kg to take out good man Russ :), take it the car would be like a rattle box if it was to have uprated engine and gearbox mounts also.
Anyone done both and is it bearable?
Just done the same (read from start) and fair play i didn't realise that i was arrogant and stubborn and wouldn't take anyone's advise well as i've previously mentioned i will be defo changing to 15" (stupid idea buying 17" and the brakes) so already looking at replacments oz superleggera's :)...
Sorry ryan218 the panels are £230 NOT £320.
Stu cheers mate
Ashley it would be nice if it was mid to high 700's/ low 800's.
Unfortiantly i couldn't work on the car saturday as i was fitting a subframe for a forum member that had a suspected bent one, after swapping everything over it turned...
Yes have already thought about the panels a company called xsport sells them however at £320ish each a panel i'm going to cut the guts out of the standard's untill i got funds to change doors/boot/bonnet all at once.
Been pretty busy lately with wedding's party's but still managed to find time to work on the car.
So here goes after finishing the interior (welding up the box for the fuel tank and relocating the gear selector 50mm closer) i then set my sights onto the engine bay and started to attack...
It's ok now guys, after a long hard think i'm going to keep the standard pedal box but grind and weld the pedals in to the shape i need.
Thanks again guys.
Cheers guys,
I'd like to get rid of the big round dome though as i wanted to fit a racing pedal box so easier to heel and toe (due to the pedals not being level) will look into it abit more before i order parts but i'm leaning towards the dci100 slave cylinder.
Only problem i might have is...
