all sorted now - went to prospeed yesterday afternoon - there was a crack in the welding on the middle box silencer. Charlie welded it back up and also fitted a plate to avoid the box catching on speed bumps etc (not that it does). He said if it happens again he will replace the centre box so...
Just driven to work - noticed a noise a few days ago when I opened the door with the engine running but did not think too much about it - opened the door again just now in a quiet area and it sounds really bad - definately blowing from the centre box area or cat = goin to call charlie in a bit
thats cool then - I just checked my ebay account and saw that I have actually bought the bosch ones not splitfires so all is cool. Are they easy to fit - I know they are easy on a normal engine but you cant even see them on a 172 - I presume they are on the plenham under the engine cover??
anyone fitted these at all - if so any good or bad points about them - seem quite cheap compared to denso etc - any recommendations - cars done 26000 miles now so about time to change them i think
are you running increased toe in andy - the specialists i went to said the more camber the more it should be toed in - I am sure you told me you are running toe out
mine was at 2 degrees before having it set - The H&R's went to 2 degrees with the height i have it at - have taken it down to approx 1degree now - think I might need a bit more but itll do for now - how much did you pay for the geometry set up? and who did it?
your gonna get some serious tyre wear with toe out and 2 degrees of camber - be getting some tyres again in a couple of months!

the only real place they might scrub is the top of the rear arches - I had ET37 and the tyres touched the arches when hitting a dip in the road - now have ET42 and had 4 people in the car on sunday and no rubbing at all.
The front will rub a bit on the plastic that hangs down to hide the bumper...
Went down to pembrokeshire yesterday and found a nice spot so thought I would take some picures - seen as I have spent about 10 hours cleaning it over the last few days!
