    Chris's 172 Cup Turbo

Fitted the Grams springs from Kam Racing today... initial impressions are really good. They've dropped the car a little more and handle really nicely. I've had Cooksports before on my old Cup so decided to try something different but i'd liken them to Cooksports in terms of ride/handling. The...

Thanks mate, appreciated it! was just heading out for a spin after fitting the new springs

    Chris's 172 Cup Turbo

Grams lowering springs ordered today... should have them on this weekend. I'll get before and after photos seeing as there's virtually none I can find for anyone else considering them. Can't wait

    Chris's 172 Cup Turbo

Yes @BoostedSi, wheels fit but there's less than 4mm clearance. Wheels are ET43 and i'm running 280mm discs with 10mm spacers. I'm pretty sure the 4 pots have had some machining down to fit. Not up until now @imprezaworks , just had a look. Current Eibach Pro's state a 15mm drop and these are...

    Chris's 172 Cup Turbo

Cheers mate. Couldn't agree more. I don't think cooksports will quite cut it tbh, so coilovers are on the cards next.

Thanks @Dr Jekyll. Was a fan of the Turini's but was getting a little bored tbh.

    Chris's 172 Cup Turbo

So a few updates on the car, it's still going well. Passed MOT with no advisories last month.. happy days! Everything is going well with the turbo kit but the clutch started to slip really badly so i've had a Helix Organic clutch fitted by ED which is actually really nice to drive.. it handles...

Would be up for this too if my clutch slip doesn't get any worse!

    Agreed Valuation

That's pretty interesting. On my documents with Greenlight my Cup is down as being valued at £7k. Only took the policy out a few months ago but whether or not that's agreed i'm not sure. It's not a figure I plucked out of the sky though, that's what I feel it would cost me to get another in the...

What's the problem with short shift kits?

I would but i've grown attached to my knob since I resprayed it and tarted it up with a new decal off of ebay

What's the problem with short shift kits?

I might look at getting it removed then to be honest. I really don't have the money to start refurbishing gearboxes and given that it makes no real difference it's better to be safe than sorry.

What's the problem with short shift kits?

I only have one fitted because I like the way it feels... lol. I really couldn't care less about shifting quick, that's why I have a turbo to compensate for my boring driving. So what I can take away from this thread is that despite me shifting slowly it's going to eventually ruin my poor...

    172 Cup.....What to do...

Sold my first Cup back in early 2013. Huge regret. As soon as I was in the market for another car I got a Cup again. Never selling this one.

    Clio MK2 DCis...

Mines not even running 100% at still returns 55mpg with mostly town driving. I did a month of mostly 50mph B roads and got 640 miles to a tank. Really economical cheap cars.

Clio DCI takes forever to start

Cheers everyone, will carry out everything suggested and update thread on the outcome. Sadly @HMS Derv Destroyer the car has been driven overheated. Water pump was knackered when I bought it and oil cooler only just been replaced as that's what I thought could be the issue. It still...

Clio DCI takes forever to start

Sorry if similar to other threads, but i've got a video to contribute to explain my problem. Car won't start for ages but once started it will normally fire back up again after the second attempt for the rest of the day. Do you reckon it needs new glow plugs? Should add that it may have...

    Santa's come early

Just standard Cup headlights mate. They're black insert. Got them off ebay new for about £50 so not genuine but still do the trick.

    172 Cup.....What to do...

Part of the reason i've still got mine is that i've spent so much on it and have a lot invested in the car. If you don't have that commitment then go for something else that takes your fancy. That's what I'd do if i hadn't sunk £££ into mine.

    172 Cup.....What to do...

If you've got any sort of attachment to the car then you'll end up regretting ever selling it. I still miss my first Cup and was an idiot for selling it 4 years ago. As for value it's hard to say as they vary so much depending on condition. I doubt the value of yours, mine or anyone else's will...

    Coolant Level Woes

Your problems are almost identical to my DCI 80's. I've tried new thermostat, waterpump, oil cooler. My coolant turns a murky black colour and the header tank pressurises. It passed the sniff test too. The oil appears clear though despite the fact that oil or some other substance is getting into...

up the power on my clio

If you need someone to do the work for you then try Engine Dynamics, they've just announced 20% off on their low boost kits (230bhp) over the next few months and the total cost is around £2500 drive in drive out with a weeks turn around. I had my conversion done by them last December and it's...

Call of Duty - Modern Warfare and MW2 / Next Gen

Love playing COD4 again... I think my playing time online was around 28 days on the original. Used to be pretty good at it. I'm crap now.

    172 Cup rescue

Yes mate that's more than likely the dogbone mount. The 172 Cups do have them. I've got the purple powerflex one and it works a treat.

    MrBlonde's 172 cup

I agree. I think mine was around £180 from my local Renault dealer. Probably paid way too much for it... which could be said for everything i've spent on the car tbh.
