Was in my dads neighbours garage borrowing tools and grabbed pics of his mk1 golf gti he has owned from new and has 30k on clock and is mint. Only comes out in the summer.
So I went up on Friday to take the cup out the garage and no surprise it wouldn't start. Battery again. Went to halfords today and bought a new one and fitted it this afternoon. Started first time. Went for a drive then tucked it back in the garage. Booking it in tomorrow for the much needed...
My dads friends mk1 golf gti , owned from new with 30k on clock and mint. Rubbish pics but was only in the garage today to borrow something so couldn't take cover right off .
Seems very expensive for a centre pipe IMO. How much do ktec charge for the resonated centre pipe? I take it you have the straight through centre pipe just now?
Update. Car wouldn't start one cold night about 3 weeks ago and it turned out was just the battery. It sat unused for 3 weeks on the street as it was Xmas and new year and wasn't a priority. Finally got it jump started today and took it a long drive so will see how the battery holds out think...
So turns out it was the battery... .... jump started bonnet catch also sorted. Took it for a long drive then gave it a good clean before tucking it away in my parents garage . Drove perfectly after not moving for 3 weeks
will look even cooler with the sd rear cage in. least you are doing in properly and not one of those ebay jobs. hopefully see it in action up at knockhill once the weather improves.
not tried the ideas above yet ,however does anyone think that it may just be a flat battery? car was sitting for a week without being used and it was very cold last week?
Went out to the cup last night, opened it with key fob then accidentally locked it immediely after, then opened it again. Got it went to start it and it's not cranking. Seems to be the immobiliser. I have tried the spare key and it does the same thing. Anybody any ideas what could be the problem?
