I haven't no. It's been tucked up over winter in the garage but I'm planning on going up to knockhill in it, I would like to try a track day tbh I think there is a Clio track day event around 4th April so would be good to go along to that. Have you been on track?
I like that. How are you finding the car after rentec did the refresh on the suspension? Steering wheel is next on my list but I'm going aftermarket as I want a smaller one.
Mines on 97k but feels tight as a drum. Previous owner spent a wad on suspension refresh and it feels great for it. Im so glad I bought mine, wanted one for years after longing for one again after owning a new one in 2003.
Wish I'd kept my 54k mint Williams 3 though, would of been worth ££££ now
Nice! I use rentec myself, 5 mins along the road from me. I also bought my cup for a grand, needed belts, brakes, service, mot , rentec did it all. Where are you based? Edinburgh I assume?
I feel your pain. This car has got under my skin and I love taking it out for a drive. I don't see me selling it, but you would be the first to know if it ever happens. @mharvey
Took the cup out the garage this weekend and been giving it a run out seeing as the weather was decent. Took some beading shots this morning. Machine polishing and sealing the paint made such a difference to this car.
to find a nice rust free mk1 16v would be an almost impossible task imo. a nice 172 cup would be me choice, im biased though as it was my choice. i did own one new in 2003 and wanted another one. i also owned a new clio 1.8 16v in 1995 and loved it, had it for 5 years. then a williams 3, which...
would be folly not to change the dephaser at the same time as the belts if u have no record of it being done, for the sake of £100 odd. when i had my belts done last year i had mine changed at the same time, makes sense. IMO
yeah they are notoriously unreliable. mate had a white e plate. sat on the street for a year as he got sick of it breaking. clutch cables went all the time, he carried a spare in the car it got that bad. he sold it to a boy locally. 2 days after he sold it he drove past the boy and a mate...
As my standard rear exhaust mount is shagged I came across somebody selling updated mounts from their 182 they were breaking. Will sell the other one so basically this cost me nothing.
