he is on here he was on about advertising them but he would put everyone else to shame,i get them for less than the tuners and know how much they pay!!
the 172's seem to have a fair few cambelt related problems, nick at hillpower had a 172 cup in not very long ago and the tensioner had failed at 36k,if you wanted to modify the engine now would be the best time
yeah nick does still do all his own work i've just dropped my 172 off for his cable throttle conversion, nicks been in the business over 30 years working for race teams etc
i'm having the same dilemma at the minute,i've got a modified 172 and cant decide whether to use this for track days or buy a valver or ex cup car but then you've either gotta keep it road legal and pay insurance and tax or trailer it everywhere an then you need a towing car
yes mate i will post up when i get it back it could become a very popular conversion,i've got a 182 manifold to put on aswell but i'm gonna have it rolling roaded at hillpower before i put the manifold and sports cat on
wouldnt it have been easier and cheaper to get the cable throttle conversion from renault sport plus you wouldnt have the dash lights up then, mines going into hillpower next week for the cabble conversion
i think it would be a quality conversion you can use the mounts of another renault but as said due to clearence issues TB's would be an easier option, all i can say is watch this space
not being funny but it seems a lot of money to spend on suspension to have it scraping i've got h&r's on mine but there setup to handle, have you had the camber setup ?
i always thought that if you twin engined somthing you would want the 2 engines the same otherwise one would be doing more work than the other ?obviously the 2.9 will be a bit quicker than the 2.8 unless it has been allowed for with mods to the 2.8
thats probably because yours is turbo'd if it was NA then you would want to be revving it close to the limiter to be on power in the next gear yours has probably run out of steam then
