I’d speak to whoever’s mapping it and get their view on it. Be nothing worse than buying and fitting some with the mapped disapproving or them not working 110% with the setup!
No difference in lower inlet if getting it ported.
I’ve always been under the impression that the throttle body is a gimmick but happy to be told otherwise!
Refurbished originals for the Oe quality
or there’s plenty of cheaper copies on eBay. Seem a bit hit and miss with the ball joint position. Cup/non cup etc.
Any of them due an aux belt. Your the only man who used genuine bits on them anymore and I’ve got a Renault aux belt kit I can’t get shut of 😂
as for the mapping I’m intrigued to see how it goes!
The nuts are a specific thread and hard to come by. I’ve got the part number for them written down somewhere. They were nearly £2 a nut when I ordered some 6 months ago so wouldn’t be surprised if they have gone up.
I’ve also used the bmw style plastic ones before and had no issues

Use the genuine Renault tools to lock the crank, and then the 197 8 degree timing tool to accurately time the cams up.
The rest of the timing is done no differently. Just the horse shoe tool is replaced by the 197 timing tool 👍🏻 Hope that helps to explain.
Use the standard Renault timing tools. But instead of using the Renault horse shoe tool. Use a 197 timing tool. 7 or 8 degrees depending on how you want it and mappers preference.
Where are you based. I have the 197 tool you can rent. Cheers
Looking for some replacement nuts for the engine bay studs.
they hold the fuse box on and also seem to do the bulkhead matting and some heatshields.
anyone know of a suitable replacement. Cheers
Yeah the reality is they get bombarded with messages.
And in most cases it’s people thinking they can wait a week and get more. So probably end up replying to the same person over again for the same cat 🤷♂️
@MLB
I’ve come to a bit of a full stop with development as the car I was using for “road testing” and miles is currently off the road.
In terms of where I’m upto, V1 was a success in terms of reducing play. I then sent a revised drawing to the machine shop and had a prototype made up for V2...
I believe the crankshaft is slightly different in terms of weight. I’m sure someone else will be along to confirm or deny this but if I recall there is a difference between ph1, ph2 and 197/200.
This shouldn’t affect anything in terms of a standard rebuild though!
Oulton was good! Solid day with no dramas.
The bushes that I had made I’m 90% happy with but there’s improvements to be made.
There’s an immediate initial difference in shift quality which is good.
Changes have been made to the design but I’m currently isolating with covid so that’s causing a...
@minimental what width and offset are the scenic steels? I’ve got some et42 and 6,5” on my daily van and they sit well with 20mm spacers front and rear. Interested to hear if yours are different 👍🏻
They any better on fuel without the cat in with it being more free flowing?
What they like noise wise? 👍🏻
Might have just given myself another job to do!
Last kangoo one I got rid of I got £77 for. But an earlier kangoo was only £30. Swings and roundabouts! That 225 cat will get you something nice for Christmas no doubt!
