Yeah, basically the same issues here mate. I am not pissed over the whole thing, it's a 54 plate car after all and I enjoy being its caretaker...
But it is frustrating some peoples idea of workmanship!
I'm not going for concourse, but the general aim is solid, tidy and usable.
Yeah, rest of the car is okay thankfully.
I am looking to get the whole car corrected and Ceramic coated. Again, whoever did the previous coating didn't really prep the paint properly and it's basically... also s**t. So will be getting done again, properly.
Was during a previous owners ownership mate, so not sure. But the other body shop has basically just filled the rust holes with filler and fibreglass...
Whoever sprayed this previously wants stringing up!! Not only was it bodged, it was also the wrong colour 😅 there’s only one racing blue ffs. And the panels weren’t aligned properly.
Anyway. It’ll look great when it’s done and I’ll sleep better at night knowing it’s done properly.

Been a bit quiet on this thread. Things have been ticking along in the back end.
Car is currently at my friends having the front end sprayed. Turned out whoever previously sprayed the bonnet had bodged the living s**t out of it. I'll get some pics, but basically filling rusty holes with...
I've always had new cars really. Pretty much every year or 2.
That is coming to an end now though. I am keeping cars a lot longer and am not really looking at anything new. Some of the used cars are absolute bargains in comparison to new ones that I don't even like.
As said, modern cars suck ass.
Car manufactures have lost their way imo.
There’s barely a new or recent model I can think of from any manufacture that I’d actually want to buy.
Seems to be the same for many from what discussions Ive had/have heard.
Everything is bloated and looks pretty samey. Numb driving experience.
Renault the manufacture that will sell you a wishbone for one side of the car, but not the other. Have f**king bonnets in stock for a 20 year old hatchback 😅
Primer. But when you consider a tidy second hand one is £150-£180 and the chances of finding a mint rb bonnet is slim. So I’m likely still spraying whatever I end up with
Plus my mate who paints for me is over the moon as he hasn’t got to attempt to repair someone else’s enormous bodge job
can’t believe this but, turns out Renault still make them/stock them. The parts person was as surprised as I was.
So I’ve ordered a brand new one. Saves messing around.
Sent the clio in for paint today and the bonnet has been bodged by the previous painter with filler and fibreglass ffs. It's completely rotten through sadly.
I need a replacement bonnet asap in Kent. Unsure if there's any good pattern parts?
What he said.
I have mates that do mine. Whole front end is about 3-400£ to me so I'd say retail you're looking at 5-600+ for the bonnet and roof alone.
Funnily enough mines going in tomorrow for the bonnet and bumper
