The 'I work in I.T' thread

I'm a solutions architect. Ex technical. Went from technical in to Project Management, Programme Management and then Solutions. Pretty much always worked in the Finance Sector in IT. Currently alternative investment as a consultant. I do literally anything IT related, so don't specialise as...

    ‘Bonnie Blue’ The RB 182

I will get her up on the ramp soon and rotate/feel the fronts - just in case. Be a new car after this haha! Coming from a motorsport background though I prefer to preventative maintenance/over maintain things anyway. My race bike has oil after every race despite the fact it comes out pristine...

    ‘Bonnie Blue’ The RB 182

Small update. Car sailed through it's MOT but I am aware that the rear brakes aren't playing ball at the moment. Seeing as I'm already balls deep in to this project, I've ordered new calipers, SNR OEM discs, another new set of pads and a new spacer to renew the lot. I have a constant 'whiring'...

Anyone used these ? Brembo rears

Do we know who makes the oem discs / setup dude ? I’ve been told OE was TRW….?? I’ve read the bearing is marked SNR? I can get a few different brands but have heard some horror stories about some of them 🥴

    Rear pad / discs

My mates a Brembo dealer so am enquiring with him. Don’t really want a wheel falling off ideally 🥴😆

    Rear pad / discs

I’d read that the bearings in some (not to say the ones you’ve got) don’t last. And that Brembo has the same bearing as OEM? Not sure how true this is though. I’m replacing my rear calipers so am just biting the bullet and doing everything 🥴

Anyone used these ? Brembo rears

https://m.autodoc.co.uk/brembo/14763434 Are they as said.. supplied complete with bearing and the rings ?

    Rear pad / discs

Do these definitely come with the abs ring? I know AUTODOC is a bit hit and miss. But I think I need rear discs and I can’t find any oems in stock that aren’t mental money

    Alternatives to PS3

What sort of noise did you experience out of interest? I have a constant whiring sound in mine. Which is present even when coasting and I’m wondering if it’s the tyres before I start swapping out wheel bearings

I’m really happy with them. Was unsure about the idea of coloured seats at first, but it really lifts the interior

Starting to refurb the front grille and fog surrounds. They’ve been done before by the looks but it doesn’t appear it was prepped. Eitherway, time for a refresh. Few before pics. I shall be doing these and and when I get a minute over the coming days. Will be going satin.

    Spacers 'guide'/info

I’m thinking maybe 10’s upfront?. I can’t imagine the 18s are doing the handling any favours 🥴

    Spacers 'guide'/info

Bit of a bump. I’ve got pms hubcebtric 18mm’s up front and the pms axle spacer kit on the rear. I am running cup turinis at present and the front is rubbing a fair bit. Especially with r/h lock. I am on bc coilovers with camber bolts at about 2.1 deg and running full castor on the top mounts...

    ‘Bonnie Blue’ The RB 182

As mentioned. I’ve got a few things to sort. Next up I need to sort the rear calipers / handbrake cables. They really aren’t doing much and one is more involved than the other. It is noticeable under heavy braking. I’ve still got some paint to sort. And the headlights. Somehow the light level...

MOT today. Annoyingly as the roads are inch thick with salt. Got home and gave her a good bath to get it all off.

    Trophy Front Sachs Dampers

Parts in general mate The amount of bits I see for sale that are nearly the cost of a new one, ive even seen people trying to flog sabelt wheels that look like they’ve been in a builders van for more than what you can get them for new. Saw the same with bucket seats when I was looking as well...

Not sure about the new new ones tbf But the previous model were awful. I’m struggling to think of anyone I know who’s done any decent mileage in one that hasn’t blown there’s up. My close pal has gone through 3 engines in his 😲😂. The last one was a brand spanker from ford and lasted 4K ffs
