The 197 has big 4 pot Brembos, Its stops very well indeed.
Drive one Ian, you'll see how the handling is better....
The only thing that is crap is the steering, which I still can't get used to! :)
Get your head out of the sand mate, its a far superior car to a 172! So what if its no faster? There is more to a car than straight line acceleration (though you wouldn't think so if you read ClioSport!!). It handles better, stops better and is far better built.
Sadly though its not just one off deals. Renault dealers themselves will sell you an F1/197 for 14.5k all day long! I'd love to find a BMW dealership willing to do you a similar deal on a new Cooper S.
Also the 197 is about to get revised gear ratios which will make it a lot better to live with!
Paradas are road tyres, 888's are track tyres that are road legal. The sidewall on the Paradas is much softer (them being a road tyre) and won't give you anywhere near the grip of the 888's on track!
888's will be fine in damp road conditions if it rains on the way home, but I wouldn't use them...
For 888's?! Thats cheap! Where's that from Jon?
Group buy on another forum has 4 tyres delivered for £235 which I thought was great value.
Edit - everybody knows the 888's are track tyres right, not T1-R's or whatever they are. £29 each? I'd be gobsmacked.
Interesting. My own personal opinion is that its a racing incident BUT one that could've been avoided, though its all very well to sit here now watching it over and over. His car was clearly quicker than the other 3 Evo's, however their greater ability (skill?) in carrying more speed through...
Its not sadly, though I know where my old one is. This one is about 2 miles from where I live though - it sat on a dealers forecourt for about a year when it was new. This guy has had it for sale for a while as well :D
Not a proper Cup, lmfao ;)
