I bought speedlines at the weekend and upon getting them home i noticed 2 of them had tiny flat spots (1" - 2"), I straightened them out best i could. On the car they doo feel like they need balanced but there isnt any major...
If you go to renault expect to pay £790 give or take. I was quoted £420 from a private garage. These are prices for a timing belt kit and an accessory belt kit. Your best bet is to go to a specialist on the forum, their prices are far better value.
About the 8 owners and no service history, the cambelt is defo an issue and for peace of mind I'd get it done. But if the car is HPI clear and your happy with the condition, the way it drives etc then go for it if the money is right.

Its really quiet when your driving sensibly but gives off a nice note when your pushing it up the rev range. Yozza is way too loud for me, loud exhausts are for big powered turbo cars and chavs! :rasp: Im still running the standard cat on it.
Well last friday i took delivery of my RS 192 and fitted it as soon as it arrived. Im really happy with it, exactly what i was after.
Also after a little inspection I found my car has RS stamped inlets which is a little bonus. A full service is on the cards next.
I got rid of the hard plasticy renault CV boots after it happened to me and got the replacement stretchy rubber ones. The dont seem as prone to clips popping off them.

Mine went a few weeks ago. My PAS fluid was black and filthy just before mine went. Pump was really howling then the bearing collapsed.
Bumper and light, slam panel, aux belt off, alternator out and top engine mount off. Wasnt a terrible job, made easier if you have an aux belt tensioner tool...
