Just been out tinkering this evening... Since my mechanic turned off the airbag lights I no longer need to leave the cables exposed for putting resistors on. The Recaros came with some plastic coating on the cables which I have reused to hide my wiring. At some point I will solder them together...

A quick visit to see my Renault mechanic today proved to be successful... Using his CLiP, he turned off my airbag and SERV lights, was only with him 10mins and a drove away light free. They still flash on/off when ignition is turned on so now MOT issues there either.
