Have a whistleing squeaking noise under acceleration in 2nd and 3rd - not a Clio btw. All belts are tight, what do you think? Water pump? Can't find any fluid under the car and the needle stays dead centre - but it only started the other day. Cheers.

Sorry to hear about the car. Dear's are a real problem round by me, aparently 14 got hit last week alone. My best mate has hit three in 2 years - they are a real danger on the roads when they are so young. Hopefully you'll get a repaired car back soon.

I've had one literally blow up on me once. My current one which is a few years old now does creak occasionally, but thats the plastic casing expanding and contracting I think.

I've had to modify the sunroof of my Golf so it acts as an air brake! I tell you, when I turn on the aircon it flies!!!! Don't even talk about the 80's green sun shade that runs over the top of the windscreen! I'm aiming for an Enzo next week!
