Oh dear. Speak to someone else for a start. You won't be hearing the w-bearing on idle, they rumble when rotated. Sounds like either the tensioner or idlers to me etc.

Do Halfords not do in house calibrations?

When I purchased my 200, the salesman was trying to offer me a Raider and going on about how it's an upgrade etc. But I never have really liked them so only an upgrade if you feel that way about them aye, salesman didn't seem to understand.

Drive both then decide. I personally do not like the Corsas at all, but each to their own.

They aren't as bad as people go on about either. Still not great though. The on board computer lies, well it does on mine anyway. I get 340miles + out of £75 of V power.
