    Gearbox gone!

Considering it's about £200 in labour to fit, £600 isn't bad for a rebuild depending what it needed. Cheaper to get a 2nd hand one though like you say.

It may have a bit more assistance with pad compared to wheel, but it's far from easy i'd say. I know what @Silent_Scone is saying about it looking like it's on rails too. Cars just seem to turn a lot sharper than they do when i use a wheel.

    Gearbox gone!

Oh so it was run pretty much dry. That's not good. It'll need stripping down to see what the damage is then.

Broken diff bearings, not heard that one before. I'm sure Mark will know what it is if you can describe the symptoms of the problem.

There is a rating system that's meant to allow certain people into certain lobbies based on their ability and risk to others. Guessing it will take time.

Recommend a Valeter/Detailer. East Midlands or close by?

There's only one guy that springs to mind when you say East Midlands and that's Jim White at White Details. Check him out on YouTube, top quality work! He's booked up for months in advance though.

    Setting up coilover ride height?

Thinking about it too much 😂 I just go off the centre of the arch to the ground all round. The rear being 10mm higher than the front. Shouldn't matter where you take the measurements from as long as it's consistent all round.
