Lower are bushes are worth a proper good look over as are wheel bearings. I'd have check of the front and rear bushes as well as callipers for binding or sticking.
The L bracket holds the pads in place with a small retaining spring on the inside. I don't know if you can get away with it as I've never fitted at the top lol.
LOL I hated the feel of the paddles when I sat in one at Geneva but I'm yet to drive one. My favourite paddle shift I've tried is the early E60 M5 SMG box, genuinely awesome in my mind and the mags hated it. Looking to trying the GT3s. I like paddles.
