Its not uncommon for the Power steering pumps to go, tell tale signs are whines when rotating the steering wheel.
Its about 3 hours to change the pump and it is advised to change the belt too.
Check to see if its gone into gear if the box is attached and whip the cambelt cover off and have a gander. Cant think of much more apart from something not done up properly inside.
I know 2 people with Range Rover TDV8s one with a superchanged V8 and one with a Sport, None of them have gone wrong in a bad way, a few warranty claims on bits and bobs but nothing too untoward.
All but the sport see off-road driving and and tow trailers/horse boxes. Great cars if you avoid...
DS3000s are the reason my clio needs a wheel refurb, superb stopping power and never faded around Oulton or Silverstone, although I run 4pots (becauseballer). I never had an issue on the road with them.
