8mm from new iirc. Tony's comments were made to me when it was dry by the way. Less tread = less movement = less heat being generated.

Im looking at AD08s for the Boxster when I need to replace the rears. R1-R from what Tony has told me is they are a bit poor until you get them down to 3/4 mm then they are very good.

t**t the drum with a hammer see if that will free it then strip and replace pads. Drum brakes are piss simple.
