How did you do that Luke?! I could only find forums saying it wasn't possible on Lion?!
If you can do it for me And it does what I need I'll give you £65 (parallels price!)
Boot camp won't support XP though, not with Lion.
Thats why I've gone down the parallels route.
Why do they make computers so complicated?!!!
Whats the difference with the SSD and a normal hard drive that affects speed? I always though processor and RAM were speed, hard drive was storage?!
Not liking that...bit beyond my ability.
On parallels settings it only recommends about 1.5gb to dedicate to the virtual machine, saying anymore will slow it down? Why? I always thought bigger was better?!
also has an option for 1,2,3 or 4 CPU's. Any idea what that means?!
OK no worries dude.
Would love to get the 16gb, but only really need proper power for running XP, but it tells me the limit for virtual machine is 1.5gb or so. Not sure why though?!

Am I looking at the right one?!
Would like to go for the 16gb but think that's a litre overkill for me!
Just realised my insurance is due tomorrow so had to renew with Elephant for now for ease, but will be shopping about and can always cancel.
Renewal for me:

Decided to upgrade my MBA to a MBP at the weekend after running out of hard drive space.
Desk looked a little loaded this afternoon!
Need a bit of help however.
I run parallels for Windows XP for CAD software and CNC programs. The MBA is 4GB with 1.7ghz i5 processor. The MBP is 4GB 2.4ghz i5...
If you're after a cheap decent ph1 then let me know. I have a 66k miles one that's a little rough round the edges but I've just replaced all the brakes and tyres. Perfect for a track project that I wanted it for but plans have changed.
Need to sell my MAcbook Air so I can upgrade to a Pro.
It's a late 2011 13" with 4GB Ram, i5 processor and 128gb SSD hard drive.
In excellent condition, just a few very minor scratches etc from daily use.
I bought it direct from Apple a week before Christmas.
Comes complete with box, manuals...
Thanks kids.
Rasclart, according to the laptop 80GB is 'other files' which i'm assuming is a combination of Using parallels to run windows XP, then all of my CAD and design programs along side my machining tool path programs. Then there's all of my CAD files themselves, both 2D and 3D.
Then...
Revels, I only have about 4gb of personal stuff, the rest is all work related and needed.
Chappers, all bar the Air from what I can tell, otherwise it's made bigger thus taking away the appeal.
I bought a MBA direct from Apple just before Christmas, 13" with 128gb HD.
Noticed yesterday I've filled up over 120gb so I'm getting close to the limit!
I know on their site they sell second hand ones, so could I px it with them against a 15" MBP?
I don't want to run with an external HD, and...
Roy, Adam, not sure I know what you mean.
Image below, I've gone to do program close on the top left, but sometimes if i scroll too far the parallels toolbar comes back into play, and I hit the reduce screen button or whatever; top right highlighted in blue.
If there's a way I can stop that...
Is it possible to lock a program on full screen view?
I use parallels to run Windows XP, but when I go to top right to close a program the odd time I click the arrows which takes it from full screen to a half window. This then screws up my organisation on the desktop as it reorders it all...
Depending on what operating system your Mc is, bootcamp won't work.
Im on Lion on my MBA and it doesn't support XP so I ended up using parallels. It's only £60 and works really well.
Can you top up on the internet / phone too?
Going to the shop would be a bit of a ball ache!
Was thinking of buying a vodafone one from Asda tonight that comes with credit...so should just be plug and play?
