I grew up in the 80s so gullwing doors are cool. Ridiculous, pointless and needless weight but cool as f**k.
Tesla do border on the “just because you can doesn’t mean you need to” but I like that they don’t pretend to be another high end brand and do their own thing. And yes, stupidly fast too.
Last one of 2017. I’ve managed to sort some of the stuff I wanted to but for 2018 I need to get the exhaust off and put something not bodged together on there. Still need to find a decent seat or pair to sort the driving position and I’m still wanting to paint a fair bit of the car to get it...
Weirdly one of my favourites of 2017. Full Gtechniq coatings throughout including the white (and I mean white!) interior. Hell of a car and yes we did set up the dancing thing for the client...
Quite possibly - think I parked near the entrance to avoid the inevitable swinging door cretins lol.
She’s got a fair few scars here and there and the offside rear quarter needs paint too.
Winter wash today as she’s getting put away for a bit to keep the salt away. Used a new ceramic top coat which we’ll be selling shortly, Gtechniq G5 on the glass and she’s looking ok.
I managed to get most of the stuff I wanted to do sorted this year - steering wheel, scenic shifter and lower...
Old vs new this week. First up an 07 RS4 in desperate need of some love. Still not perfect but a lot better.
Followed up with a 70 mile S3 which aside from some marring to the bonnet was a breeze by comparison...
Big turnaround on this baby. Tracked and thoroughly fecked. 3 days later and she’s done with Gtechniq to finish. Gotta say, if I was in the market for an M3, this pretty much ticks all the boxes.
Still can't get my brain around the way she now drives. Really hard and steady delivery with a discernible kick when the second cam comes in. Just enjoying the moment.
Today was a good day.
Headed down to Rentech. Mike lent me a little 1.2 to smoke around in and while he investigated, I subjected myself to Ikea during half term..
Anyway, timing was 6-8 degrees out, the main dealer had managed not to fit an oil seal to the dephaser and the cat's buggered. Mike...
I won't show you the parking sensor lash up at the front.....
Plate was glued reasonably firmly despite an overnight soak in tar & glue remover. We were told to leave it be - shame as it hurt my eyes too.
Nice thing to drive - had to deliver back to the client and it just wafts along.
This was a pre-sale enhancement for a trader pal but it turned into a full labour of love correction.
Working with low paint levels in places we removed on average 4 microns to achieve a really decent result. Finished with a couple of coats of Zaino Z5 topped with Z8.
Video won't load but can be...
Invoice is north of £750....
I'm hoping it's either a) a simple and cheap fix (famous last words!!) or b) something I can sort myself like the cat or plugs etc.
Anyhoo I'm not losing sleep - the positive is that the car feels strong and quick as is so my thinking is that once the missing 30...
@iyrix can answer that better than me mate - he's driven mine and his made almost 30hp more this morning. I'm going to call Ren Tech Monday and get booked in asap.
On the plus side, it feels quick and strong so it'll be epic once sorted :D
I'll just leave this hear. I won't pretend I'm not mildly disappointed. I didn't have a baseline in mind so at least I've got a starting point I guess. Feedback was that timing or fuelling is the issue so that's something to work with.
Thanks mate. 520 x 84 so slightly narrower than the recess top to bottom.
Exhaust was really gash - may look out a K Tec stealth at some point.
Funds allowing I plan to get some bodywork done over the winter, chase all the dings out and then up the gloss a bit - close up the paint's swirly but I...
Not a huge update but my plate from proplates turned up the other day so I whacked it on - much better.
Had time after a manic fortnight at work to wash and lay on a quick coat of Zaino Z5 too.
Britemax Interior Dressing for me but Natural Look kicks its ass for smell for sure.
Sticky bits damp microfibre only.
Seats - I treated them as leather even though it's fake lol.
