Steve, this is a great setup on a budget. Graham (who did the hard work lol) drove it this morning and loves it. No rattles, no vibrations and lightning quick Gear changes so win win all round.
Fitting was complex but only due to rusted bolts here and there. Otherwise brilliant.
So today me and @lyrix headed to my work. While he set to work on the Clio, I gave his recently acquired Q5 some TLC.
Scenic shifter fitted with yanoo bushes and quaife knob. Powerflex rear exhaust bush added, gear linkage cleaner and regreased and better LEDs also fitted.
The car's transformed...
I've applied to satin black rims without issue at all. Apply, wipe off residue, job done.
Personally I wouldn't bother layering - single coat is enough :)
Gave the interior a tidy today and used my new favourite interior dressing to freshen up all the plastics (britemax interior dressing for anyone remotely interested). Quick wash and that's about it. Fitting some new stuff next weekend :)
Ceramics are doable yourself but ideally need to cure inside for 12 hours. There are a couple suitable for outdoor use but I can't remember which. Certainly not Gtechniq or Gyeon.
Oh and spent a day on this - Mother in Law's new to her iMusic. Still needs machine polishing but spent most of my time on the interior as it was a smoker's car - yuk.
Small update - fuel rail connector broke so new one fitted after a lot of swearing and tugging. Added a clamp to be on the safe side .
Scenic shifter on its way, Quaife gearknob to top it and yanoo bushes to tighten it up. Powerflex exhaust mount also here. Once fitted the next step will be to...
I can't give much away I'm afraid. All the accredited detailers are sent samples of prototype products to try and review/report on periodically.
What I can say is that the slickness compared to Serum Light is night and day. Feels like it's got a coat of exo already - it's way slippery!
It'll be...
I don't buy much as most of what I use is at work but I did splash out on some angelwax enigma to top the coating on my daily. Panel at a time is the golden rule but the shine and beading is insane.
Yep. after 18 months you can't touch it with a machine polish. Pretty much permanently bonds to the paint. You have to be very, very careful when applying for this reason.
Serum Light when cured needs anything up to half a dozen hits with the machine to fully remove and the pro only version is...
Thanks chaps. New connector ordered from KTec as couldn't find anywhere else. I have help to fit also - polishing's my thing, not anything mechanical :D
Strong fuel smell on the way home tonight and coughed when I started from cold. Had a root around and found this....
At least I found the leak; question is how the hell do I fix it? Help!
TIA
Debating having my dash strips painted Ford Nitrous Blue (because I'm in love with the colour lol) so pooped to my painter for some figures - including repainting my back bumper.
Was also in illustrious company today....if you're into detailing you'll know Paul Dalton ;)
So at the weekend I paid the FOS a visit for the first time in a while. Cracking day with perfect weather and more amazing cars than I could photograph.
Epic early morning blast across the downs - the way this car handles is perfectly on point for me right now with only the seating position and...
And finished. Zaino Z2/Z8 to seal and she's off tomorrow to the dealer. Going to miss this one rather a lot. Pleased to have produced some car p**n for you lovely lot!
Or indeed an R34 GTR Nismo R1, one of less than 30 worldwide. Carbonfibre everywhere and even though I'm not a JDM guy I'm properly liking this. Single stage polish, Zaino, new black Nismo wheels going on and then off to the dealer to be sold.
