Got to admit now that I worked out why my laptop was running like s**t on ubuntu and have fixed it, its all I use. I have re-installed windows so I can boot it when I need to as I have some software that I havent sourced linux versions of yet, but Ubuntu is just better.

lighter brake discs will have the same effect as lighter alloys. lighter brake callipers will help with handling also because of less unsprung weight
