Gave the car a once over after work, not been done in a few weeks so was looking a little worse for wear!
Nothing special, just a wash mitt and some water, needs a proper clay, polish and wax but i'll do that when I get the chance, possibly tomorrow as I'm not working!
AST's are awesome, but...
People with rubbish MPG should change the pre cat lambda sensor, mine was gone and only got 28mpg on a steady 70 mile run on thursday. Changed it now and I'm getting 33mpg around town.
It's higher now than in those pics, was so low it would move!
At the minute they are terrible, I put them on cool settings (low) so just gonna run them for a few weeks and play about before I get them pro set up at powerstation.
I do most of the stuff on my cars, suspension, brakes, little fixes etc.
But i will never try to save a bit of money and not get the stamp in my service book. Just not worth it come sale time.
I love messing about with them, but at the same time I'm happy to hold my hands up and admit that I...
Can't believe how much adjustment there is though, the forst pics posted, I had 75mm thread elft on the front to go down and around 100mm on the back!!
Even how it sits now is maybe only 1/4 - 1/3 of the way down the thread on the rear!
Not sure whether to get the stiffer spring option, that...
^ Cheers mate.
Yeah I remember saying that when you started your project thread! I'm never happy to be honest, I love playing around with the car and doing bits and bobs to it so just keep wasting money! Good way to waste it though, the car looks and sounds s**t hot in my opinion.
^ Nah, I own the house across the road with my brother, bought it about 18 months ago now!
Been working weekends since i was 13, 2 paper rounds etc, then 7 days a week from leaving school pretty much, work hard play hard as they say!
It handles terrible!!
A corner i can normally take at 60 on the H&R's saw me under steering at about 50!
But, until it gets set up properly I will drive low and slow!!
Wish I could keep the lowness and the handling, but the car is gonna be used on track so I know which is more important!!
Was down for it, but going to Amsterdam now instead!!
Although I might come up first thing in the morning, I don't fly until 2pm and have some running around to do, what time are people going there?
Finally, some slack!
Right, the car is low as fook, because i can.
It will be set up by Powerstation, full geo and corner weighting in the next few weeks. I'll tell Curtis I want it as low as poss but the handling to be spot on, as said before I know I will have to compromise on the ride height, but for now it...
Can you not read?!
Look back about how I commented on going to Powerstation in the very near future, then edit your post so you look less foolish!
Too low?! There is about 120mm of thread still to play with the on the rears to go lower!!
Baggers, it will be set up to handle as good as possible, the lowness is an awesome addition to that though!
Got the solid top mounts on too, seems to have very good initial turn in.
Currently running max soft at the front and 8 clicks on the rear, need to have a good play about and see how...
It hasnt been set up yet obviously, will be going to powerstation once I have decided if I want the stiffer spring option or not.
I want it as low as possible but to handle mint, so will probably have to compromise on the height a bit, but admit that it looks mint damn you!
Will do, I'll be...
Nope no knocking...yet!
Lambda is in, light is still on but smells less of fuel from the exhaust fumes, economy seems back to normal, not had limp mode since either so I'm hoping that should be sorted!
Everyone excuse the dirt too, was clean before I went to Birchdown!!
Fitted my AST's today, set them a bit low at first....!
The rear arches were supported by the tyres, wouldnt even move!!
Lifted it up a bit and went for a quick drive around the block:
jack wouldnt go under even on a 2" block of timber under the wheel!!
Got a bit more sensible...
Handling is amazing too, really planted and solid but comfy.
I'm not sure how loud it would be with the cat in....
Won't be a daily driver as of tuesday though so not overly fussed...
Ah right, much firmer once you give it some, and once theys ettle it will sit perfect.
Yeah at full revs it's pretty insane!
Did a tunnel run earlier and scared myself, and i was expecting it!!
Not too sure, he's only been on a few times. His car is awesome aint it!
