You seem to mis-understand what is meant by 'class' when used that context so let me rephrase.
Compare the Williams to another hot-hatch/super-mini of the era that is more special/better than average, and people may think that you have a reason to say that the Williams is average
If you do little mileage and want a car to heavily modify, be that stripped out track **** or show car, then I would say the ph1 172.
If you want a new(er) car that you dont have to worry about and will leave standard(ish) then the 197
I have listened to your reasons, your reasons are flawed. For a car in its class it is far from oridnary/average. Point in the direction of a car of its era and in its class then I will think you have a point. Unfortunately you seem to want to compare it to the M3 and Cossie which never have...
The williams succeeded in the competitions it was raced in though....
The vee has never been raced by renault hence its done nothing
edit: Oh and I dont own a williams, never have and never will
No they did not, it was due to success in F1. So they took the 1.8 16v and made it something special by uprating engine size, chassis and even widened the track. More reason to it than the Vee
pick up issue 1 of performance car, or check out the drivers-republic.com, read everything they have to say about the williams in comparison to the 197cup and/or focus rs and learn some respect :rasp:
